Strange Fruit

There is something special about the moment when a person, after silently walking through the fields for at least an hour, stops on an empty plain and slowly looks around. The sun dips toward the horizon, reflecting in the pools of spring water. The wind whistles across the barren fields and wide dirt roads. In the thickets, the first green shoots burst forth. Growing light dominates the vast emptiness. Deep beneath the surface, silent seeds awaken. How can one express the feeling of a great beginning – the start of a new aeon, a new great Summer with all its challenges and excitements? How can one simultaneously depict the sense that, somewhere far away, devastating and terrible events are unfolding, urgently demanding our presence?
