About the Film
Slavenka or About the Pain is an intimate documentary portrait of writer, journalist, and feminist Slavenka Drakulić, directed by Petar Krelja. Through conversations with Drakulić, the director explores her various life roles – as a woman, mother, daughter, wife, and friend – as well as her struggle with a serious illness. A minimalist approach, combined with archival materials, allows viewers a deeper understanding of her life and work.
