The Way Out is an experimental film rooted in a documentary experience. It centers on a prolonged conversation with Mrs. Gabrijela, who recently lost someone close, leaving her emotions raw and exposed. The author’s intervention is clear, constant, and unavoidable. Thus, The Way Out becomes perhaps the only space where both the protagonist and the filmmaker(s) can fully experience the emotions imposed on them – provoking the subconscious, alternating between anxiety and comforting memories of a past life. For them, the only exit is literally The Way Out.
