Anything but a conventional documentary, There Was No Wind explores the island of Zlarin in a distinctly idiosyncratic way: it is simultaneously a film about the island and a film about the very form of documentary cinema. It lays bare the contradictory nature of the documentary as a genre – one that seeks to convey objective truth, while in reality being entirely shaped by the choices and decisions of its author.
