The animated film LOL-CON by Ante Kuduz is a cinematic translation of his distinctive visual style and authorial worldview into the language of film. From a production and directorial standpoint, it represents a hybrid of traditional 2D hand-drawn animation and digital image post-production, thereby acquiring a key trait of many contemporary film works – the intention to expand and upgrade the notion of animation. Through its natural inertia, this work brings us closer to something that could be described as graphic art in motion.
