Deep End Art No. 1

"Deep End Art No 1 consists of about twenty short “haiku” scenes filmed in a garden, mostly without looking through the camera, capturing authentic images and sounds. The work in the vegetable garden was not adapted to the needs of creation – instead, creation arose naturally from the work itself. Each scene is a self-contained unit, like a seed holding the potential for further development – a kind of fractal. The creative process was not pre-planned but emerged during the work. Each moment of realization simultaneously allowed for a value judgment, which then determined the next step – a form of jazz improvisation. Whether a scene remained as initially proposed or underwent change depended on unforeseen circumstances. In some places, the original material was manipulated through media to achieve or suggest a “multidimensional” reading. The film explores how to extract the invisible strangeness from ordinary things that surround us daily, revealing it through the unique specificity of the medium’s application. This work is inspired by a quote from Henry David Thoreau: ""Go confidently in the direction of your dreams! Live the life you've imagined. As you simplify your life, the laws of the universe will be simpler."""
