The Association for the Promotion of Multimedia Creativity for the Purpose of Prevention "Tightrope Walkers" was founded in 2010 at the Rudeš Elementary School in Zagreb at the initiative of prof. Mirjana Jukić and mag. paed. soc. Katica Šarić, as a response to the need for an innovative approach to the upbringing and education of children and youth through multimedia. Through creative expression through film, radio, photography and other audiovisual media, the association promotes non-violence, healthy lifestyles and social inclusion and organizes media workshops, education, camps and content production that enable young people to become active participants in society through research and expression.
As part of the Association's work, more than 80 documentaries, feature films, television reports and workshop films have been made. Children's films created in the workshops have been screened and awarded at numerous domestic and international festivals: state reviews of Croatian children's filmmaking, the international documentary film festival DokuArt in Bjelovar, the state review LiDraNo, the UNICEF festival on children's rights, the DUFF festival of Mediterranean countries' films in Dubrovnik and many others. Some of the films have also been included in textbooks and reading books for the subject Croatian language, as valuable educational content.
