The Association for Interdisciplinary and Intercultural Research (UIII) was founded with the mission to research and act within cultural interspaces, focusing on producing catalysts for social, artistic, urban, and scientific platforms aimed at fostering long-term stakeholders in economic, cultural, artistic, and scientific sectors. UIII is oriented towards interdisciplinary research, particularly in urban studies and the development of civic engagement in shaping the immediate environment, with a strong emphasis on the influence of art in this sphere. Through numerous programs, UIII has introduced innovative intersections of various disciplinary fields including architecture, urbanism, anthropology, art history, film studies, contemporary art (with a focus on public space and its performativity), social medicine, visual and urban anthropology. This approach establishes programmatic guidelines that lead to the synergy of progressive ideas from contemporary art and social-humanistic sciences.
