Trash Association

The Trash Association was founded on May 15, 2005, with the primary goal of organizing the Trash Film Festival, and with the somewhat conspiratorial ambition to become the regional leader of trash culture in this part of Europe — a goal successfully achieved within five years.

The association has produced numerous music videos and short films, along with around thirty shorter sketches used to promote the festival. It also hosts the music band “Chubaka Chetri Chudaka i Chubakina Baka,” which records English-language covers of Croatian pop hits, as well as DJ mister.no, and the design-and-invention division “Megatrash!”

Members of the association are united by a shared passion for Jackie Chan, David Hasselhoff, Freddie Mercury, Bruce Lee, Freddy Krueger, Chuck Norris, and other icons who shaped 20th-century culture — especially the 1980s — in film, music, and beyond. In autumn 2012, the association, together with the Film-Creative Studio Vanima, was granted management of Kino Galerija, a local cinema venue.
