The association Manda – Film and Word produces short children’s films of various genres in cooperation with schools. These films participate in film festivals, reviews, and showcases and have won numerous awards. The association conducts teacher education programs aiming to broaden interest in film.
It emphasizes film as an excellent method to develop critical thinking in children and youth, as well as to encourage the creation of film stories, exploration, and production of short films. Interactive film analyses are held with children and youth, encouraging them to recognize film language and the ways themes are portrayed.
In its work with children and youth, the association fosters creativity, imagination, observation, and empathy. The president of the association also occasionally directs short films. She has received two special diplomas for the films Eliksir and Bonaca s Lopuda. The documentary Noći i svanuća (Nights and Dawns) was part of a humanitarian weekend program in Kirchdorf near Zurich.
