GFR film - video

GFR FILM-VIDEO is a citizens’ association founded in 1994 as the successor of the Gymnasium Film Club (founded in 1973) and the Film Workshop (founded in 1978) in Požega. Every year, the association organizes the international film festival Croatian One-Minute Film Festival (since 1993) and the event Požega Film Week (since 2014). Since 1994, GFR has promoted film art through its Art Cinema programs (over 200 programs held). Through youth film education beginning in 1973, approximately 380 films have been produced. The association also organizes photography exhibitions (around 40 held), and has hosted 3 national non-professional film festivals (in 1988, 1993, and 2021). On October 6, 2004, it presented a program of one-minute films at UNESCO in Paris during the ceremony naming Croatian actor Relja Bašić as a UNESCO Artist for Peace. From June 15 to August 31, 2024, GFR organized a solo exhibition of films and workshops on the one-minute film format in Prague, Czech Republic, as part of the One-Minute Film Museum project. Project partners included: IAM Illusion Art Museum Prague, Czech Chamber of Commerce Prague 1, UNICEF, the Croatian Embassy in Prague, the Croatian National Tourist Board Representative Office in the Czech Republic, Prague Film Institute, Newton University, and others.
