92 best elementary school films at the Croatian Children's Film Festival
Tonight at 7 pm there was a grand opening ceremony with cultural and entertainment program in Varaždin's cinema Gallery and with it began the 52nd Croatian Children's Film Festival. The Festival will be held until Sunday in Varaždin, Ludbreg and Čakovec and will show 92 film works of primary school children created over the past year from all Croatia. These three towns will receive 150 gifted students and their mentors.
The First Festival screening will be held tonight in cinema Gallery, and two more on the same location on Friday morning. After the morning screenings, young filmmakers will travel to Ludbreg where they will screen the fourth block of films at the Dragutin Novak Open University. Saturday's morning program takes place in Čakovec, with three festival screenings throughout the day at the Cultural Centre Čakovec. Then, on Sunday morning, the award ceremony will take place and this year's Festival will be closed.
Also, on Wednesday began the Seminar-workshop program supported by the Agency for Mobility and EU programs, i.e. the Erasmus + program. Two mentors from each partner organization attend the seminar and together with eight of them, who are all experienced teachers and mentors of media culture that actively work with young filmmakers are the leaders of children's film clubs or school groups from Croatia. On the workshops there are sixteen students from primary and secondary schools partner associations and twelve domestic students, and all of them will take part at the festival, according to personal preferences and will be involved in the work of the children's jury.
This year's Festival is organized by Croatian Film Association, Creative Film Studio Vanima, Čakovec Animated Film School and Martijanec Elementary School.
