Workshop programs

1. ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PARTICIPANTS (aged 12-14)

a) Fiction film workshop
Workshop participants will learn about fiction film, differences between genres and acquire knowledge about focal points of certain genres within fiction film. They will be able to conduct preparations for filming a fiction film on their own, choose a script and turn it into filming book. Based on filming book they will be able to create operative filming plan, research and select locations, actors, scenes and costumes. They will know how to use their knowledge for lightning, audio taping, editing and postproduction of sound and footage, as well as how to choose editing frames. Participants will understand and know how to film their own short fiction film.

b) Documentary film workshop
Participants will be thought how to use their everyday surroundings as an inspiration for their set topic and to make it interesting to general audience. They will learn basic techniques of filming and editing in order to create an unit. Through unique form of documentaries they will learn to follow protagonists and depend on natural conditions such as weather or sensitivity of a certain story. They will learn how to record sound within their conditions and how to use their footage in the best possible way.

2. HIGH SCHOOL PARTICIPANTS (aged 15-17)

a) Animated film workshop
Participants will learn different animation techniques and apply their knowledge. They will work independently or in smaller teams so they could acquire different skills. Besides animation techniques they will learn how to film the material and import it into an editing program, as well as edit their own material.

a) Experimental film workshop
Workshop participants will learn about the process of creating an experimental film. They could organize simpler filming on their own and understand skills and knowledge needed for professional filming and editing. They will acquire knowledge needed to better understand this specific field of creating and develop critical relation towards filmed material and know how to best use filmed material. They will be able to use their knowledge in extracurricular activities like film groups, video groups and within art classes.
