About collective awareness and accuracy of Croatian moving pictures data

Prompted by recent articles regarding new findings from Croatian cinema archaeology and new findings regarding the date of oldest recordings on the territory of today’s Croatia published in this journal, the author joins the discussion contributing his own corrections regarding the data published in Films in the Croatian Film Archives at the Croatian State Archives from 1904 to 1940, as well as his findings during the work on his documentary and archive films on the history of Croatian film: Živuće fotografije — slike iz prošlosti filma u Hrvatskoj (1982), Škola narodnog zdravlja — naša nepoznata filmska industrija (1984), Slike iz partizanske kinematografije (1985), Prvi su krenuli dokumentaristi (1990), Živuće fotografije II. — hrvatske slike iz prošlosti srednjeuropskog filma (2006), and Živuće fotografije III. — hrvatske slike iz prošlosti mediteranskog filma (in production).
