Short feature films: problems in production and dramaturgy

13. Days of Croatian Film, Zagreb

Feature films screened at the Days were thematically and formally much more diverse than documentaries, they stretched from emotional intimist, hermetical works to clearly socially engaged. Thematic oscillation was accompanied by oscillations in quality; although there were some valuable works (Croatian short and middle meter feature films are traditionally good). Perhaps the problem lies in the production, which prevents the authors from concentrating solely on their area of work.
