FROM THE HISTORY OF CROATIAN CINEMA

Zagreb Television and Films for the Cinemas: How was Ritam zločina by Zoran TadićCreated?

This is a memoirist text by a long-term editor of the Zagreb Television Film Programme on the filming of the now classical film, Ritam zločina (The Rhythm of Crime) by Zoran Tadić. The film was created in guerilla, literally underground, conditions as part of a TV show called 3, 2, 1 GO!, dedicated to film. The first idea was to make a film as part of a special show that would present a film creation. The text describes producer’s memories of film making, the context of the creation and the response. The film was a success and it received awards at international film festivals (Porto, Brussels). The text also tells about the relationship between the cinema and the television share in film production, that is, about the conflict between film producers and Pata and Zagreb Television because of a series of off-films produced by Zagreb Television for the cinema. Ritam zločina was the first such attempt.
