India, a Faraway Country

Program of Indian Films II, Film Programmes, 9-14 October 2006

The article first mentions the probably most common views on India. This is followed by a description of the peculiarities of the Indian feature-length production. Finally, there is a review of presented films and the attempt to give a brief analysis of the meaning of each of them. Firstly, they are divided on the basis of social problems they are concerned with but at the same time the author of the text questions (personal) limitations for the perception of a faraway and different culture.
