Film-Historical Sketches

The article is a collection of historical comments that accompanied short television segments dedicated to early Croatian film in two film programmes on Croatian television.

In these comments late Vjekoslav Majcen follows the early appearance of some film forms and procedures (early motion pictures, animated film, TV adds, film colouring, political campaign coverage), as well as documentary and ethnographical treatment of various historical phenomena (cities, landscapes, folk customs, urban parties, social life, etc.).

His texts are very informative, filled with fine remarks about the history of film in Croatia and the history of Croatia.
