Business visit to Makarska
Business visit of delegation of Croatian Film Association to Makarska was held on Tuesday, October 20th. Topic was the organization of 54th Croatian Children's Film Festival in Makarska from 5th until 8th of october 2016.
Delegation of Croatian Film Association consisting of Vera Robić Škarica (president), Marija Ratković Vidaković (current secretary), Hrvoje Selec (associate for Festival programs) and Matija Žibrat (associate) held a business meeting together with organizers of 54th Film Festival Josip Vujčić from DokuMA organization at the mayor of Makarska, mr. Bilić's office together with Mr. Selak, president of Culture, art and entertainment Committee of the City of Makarska and Ms. Ivandić, representative of Hotel Makarska d.d.
After 54th Festival organizers, president of CFA Vera Robić Škarica and Josip Vujčić from DokuMA organization introduction, mayor Bilić added his support to the Festival promising for Makarska to be an excellent host. He mentioned that the City administration always supports cultural programs, especially when it comes to children. They support the idea of activities connected to media culture in elementary schools and education teachers to start development of audiovisual activities within Makarska.
Makarska was the host of the Festival in 1984 and hosts wish was to organize it again after 32 years. Goal of the program was to include the whole City in the Festival program and offer elementary schools from Makarska area a high quality program to fulfill the curriculum with media culture and support the work of film groups in some of those schools. After two successfully organized festivals by DokuMa, there is no doubt that they are ready to host 54th Film Festival and present the city in the best possible way. Currently, there is no continuous work of film groups in Makarska and this is why it is important to support the Festival. Special praise should be given to initiative by the members of DokuMA organization that came from Kinoklub Biokovo, at the time one of ten most active cinema clubs that was lead by professor Vinko Garmaz during the 80's in Makarska.
The only thing left for film groups is to work hard this year on their new work and films so they could visit 54th Croatian Children's Film Festival in Makarska!
