Cooperation of Four River Film Festival and Pula Film Festival; one of the winners in Karlovac participated in a workshop in Pula!
A year ago the Croatian Film Association introduced one praiseworthy novelty in the organization of the Croatian Children's Film Festival (for elementary school) and Youth Film Festival together with and Four River Film Festival (for high school): the winners of both festivals, as a reward for their successful work, go to festivals and workshops around the world - whether to participate as members of the jury, or in different workshop programs. The Croatian Film Association estimated that the award of this type would be much more valuable and useful than money or prizes in the form of technical equipment, which is now much more accessible than usual. Is there anything more beautiful than creating in an international environment and communicating with European peers? Because the film industry (and media literacy, in general) which is moving toward teamwork is an ideal environment to overcome all cultural barriers on the one hand and to implement direct and indirect knowledge and experience which has already been acquired on the other side.
Lucija Kekić
According to the above mentioned principle, co-operation between Pula Film Festival and Youth Film Festival and Four River Film Festival has been accomplished and Lucija Kekić from the Cinema Club Karlovac was awarded as a member of the team which made the film 'In the Name of Burek' (a laureate of the Yellow Flag which promotes non-violence on film at the recently held YFF and FRFF). Lucija took part in RED workshop for digital natives in Pula. Red workshop is a creative workshop designed in collaboration with Pula Film Festival and Dado Valentić, founder of Mytherapy studio, the leading company for digital mastering based in the UK, with the support of the company Red Digital Cinema and Adobe. The main objective of the workshop was to teach young people the latest achievements in the field of film industry and digital technology, and thus discover the potential future stars of digital cinema. With expert guidance, participants of the camp wrote and produced their short film, filmed it using the RED DRAGON camera and edited it in REDucation post-production: and all this at the level of professional film directors!
Lucija Kekić
Yesterday afternoon in nicely filled Istrian National Theatre there was a premiere of their film and all participants received diplomas and gifts. I met many young people who want to make films in the future. The first day we wrote the script, and we started filming the following. After 3 days of shooting we began the editing. Each of us got a chance to work in an area that we’re interested in. So, some opted for acting, some for the camera, post-production, directing. I tried out all the segments because I wanted to learn as much as I could, said Lucia and only confirmed the quality of this type of cooperation that will in any case continue next year.
