FourRiver Film Festival presented in Istanbul and Vienna / Winners of Children's Film Festival and Youth Film Festival also stayed in Istanbul
International cooperation of Croatian Film Club's Association is very active. Activity of the Association is presented in all parts of Europe, and last week was particularly interesting in Istanbul and Vienna, where the representatives of Croatian Film Club's Association and Cinema Club Karlovac took part at the Universal Kids Film Festival, i.e. the Media Literacy Award. They presented Youth Film Festival, FourRiver Film Festival and Croatian Children's Film Festival.
Universal Kids Film Festival is an attempt to bring the best children's films from around the world every November to Istanbul in Turkey. Special features in 2014 were the ten best animated films on children's rights from UNICEF as well as a selection of films from One Minute Junior Videos. On this international film festival organizers and sponsors of this activity want to steer young hearts and minds to the path of a peaceful and tolerant society. The cooperation between Croatian Film Club's Association and Universal Kids Film Festival was established in February this year. In June this year four Turkish high school students participated in the FourRiver Film Festival and Youth Film Festival as members of the high school jury. A few months later, in late September two Turkish elementary school students participated on the Croatian Children's Film Festival as members of the elementary school jury. Rowena Tuzcuoğlu, director of the festival, visited the festivals together with the children and together we designed a program for Croatian children upon their arrival in Istanbul. The Croatian Film Club's Association sent five award-winning children and young people to Instanbul from October 27 to 31. Their names are Karlo Jakovac and Mihael Ibranović from Većeslav Holjevac elementary school, winners of the first prize in the category of feature film at the Children's Film Festival, Leo Vitasović, Sven Batinić and Josip Šuker from Elegy Film group who won the award for best feature film at the Youth Film Festival. Karlo, Mihael, Leo, Josip and Sven presented both Youth Film Festival and FourRiver Film Festival which are organized by the Croatian Film Club's Association and there was also screening of the winning films. Furthermore, they were members of the international jury of young film lovers.
While Karlo, Mihael, Leo, Sven and Josip spent time in Istanbul, Filip, Andrija, Matija and Luka stayed in Vienna from October 29 to 31. The Austrian Ministry for Education, Arts and Culture awards the international Media Literacy Award, MLA every year. The Media Literacy Award is a European award for media education and media projects (video, audio, print, multimedia, etc.). Together with the presentation of projects, the supporting program provides an opportunity for teachers to meet each other and exchange views and experiences. Croatian Film Association and Cinema Club Karlovac have been cooperating with MLA for four years. That is why this year FourRiver Film Festival as an international festival of high school film was again presented at the MLA. Filip Božičević, Andrija Ceskic, Matija Žibrat and Luka Padežanin from Cinema Club Karlovac presented the film festivals in Karlovac and invited everyone to submit their films until 1 March 2015.
The international film autumn in CFA is still not over. Moreover, in December will FourRiver Film Festival, Youth Film Festival and Children's Film Festival be presented in Pyrgos, Greece and Berlin, Germany. What will happen when Europe becomes too small?
