Honouring the memory of one of the best Croatioan actors, Fabijan Šovagović, Croatian Film Directors Association presents the annual award Fabijan Šovagović to an actress or an actor whose work has made an impact in the history of Croatian film. On the occasion of establishing the award, which was presented to Boris Dvornik (2001) and Mia Oremović (2002), Croatian Film Clubs’ Association made the film FABIJAN ŠOVAGOVIĆ.
Fabijan Šovagović took part in more than 60 films directed by Croatian film directors: Ante Babaja, Nikola Babić, Vojdrag Berčić, Veljko Bulajić, Eduard Galić, Bruno Gamulin, Krešo Golik, Rajko Grlić, Fadil Hadžić, Fedor Hanžeković, Branko Ivanda, Vanča Kljaković, Danijel Marušić, Vedran Mihletić, Miroslav Mikuljan, Vatroslav Mimica, Krsto Papić, Ante Peterlić, Slobodan Praljak, Branko Schmidt, Dejan Šorak, Zoran Tadić, Nikola Tanhofer, Živorad Tomić, Antun Vrdoljak and Bogdan Žižić. The film consists of extracts from all of these films and short statements about Šovagović given by all living Croatian film directors who had the honour to work with this great actor.
